Patricia A. Selsor

Chafee FCIP Supervisor

Personal Profile

Pat Selsor returned to college after raising four children to get a Bachelors degree in Social Work. While in college, she worked as a substitute teacher for three years teaching elementary and high school students. After receiving her BSW, Pat worked at HDC in Boone and Audrain counties for four years doing case management.

Eight years ago, Pat’s family started a college scholarship in memory of her son, Jared. Those who apply for the scholarship must write an essay answering the question, "What makes me stand out in a crowd?"

In 2004, Pat married Chuck Holloway. Together they have eight children, fourteen grandchildren, with two more grandchildren due in May. Pat & Chuck relax with family and friends eating out, watching movies, and playing games. A relatively new interest for them is planning and executing landscaping around their country home.

Areas of Services

Family Facets has been Pat’s career choice for the last four years, working as an Intensive In-home Services Specialist to maintain families and as a Family Reunification Services Specialist to reunite families. Pat is looking forward to her new position as a Chafee Foster Care Independence Program Supervisor helping foster care youth learn life skills and prepare for living independently following foster care. Her goal is to help people realize how important life skills are to independence as young adults. Helping youth find their strengths and gain coping skills, creating a strong family base is one of Pat’s career objectives.
